Meet Brad Marek

Brad Marek, PGA Teaching Professional and co-founder of Athlos College Coaching, competing in a PGA tournament

Brad Marek grew up in the Chicago suburbs and spent his junior years competing at the highest level in Illinois, winning both the Illinois Junior Amateur and Illinois Amateur Championships before earning a golf scholarship to Indiana University.

At Indiana, Brad became a three-time NCAA Academic All-American. He knows what college coaches look for in a recruit because he was one.

After college, Brad played professionally for ten years and won 17 times across multiple tours. He made the cut at the 2021 PGA Championship at Kiawah Island, SC, and competed again in the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, KY. He earned his Class A PGA membership in 2019 and still plays around a dozen competitive events each year.

In 2017, Brad shifted his focus to coaching. He works with junior and competitive golfers on technique, course management, and player development through his coaching practice.

At Athlos, Brad brings a perspective that few other college golf recruiting services can replicate. He earned a college scholarship, played at the Division I level, and spent a decade competing professionally. When he sits down with a student and family to talk about the recruiting process, he's drawing on that entire experience, not a manual.

Brad co-founded Athlos because he saw a gap: junior golfers with real college potential weren't getting the specific, personalized guidance they needed to land in the right program.
